Nottingham Forest are hoping to sign Dean Henderson before Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea this summer.
This is according to the most recent reports regarding the future of Manchester United’s Cumbrian goalkeeper.
Henderson is currently on loan at Forest, where he is attempting to recover from a thigh injury.
Forest are set to make a move for the Whitehaven star if they survive in the Premier League, according to Football Insider.
It comes after their report that Henderson has accepted that his future lies outside of Old Trafford.
The former Carlisle United academy goalkeeper has returned to the first-team scene with Nottingham Forest this season and will be hesitant to play second fiddle at Manchester United again.
The 26-year-old Cumbrian is also eager to advance his England career.
Henderson’s performance for Forest this season earned him a recall to the national team.
He is currently sidelined after 20 first-team appearances for Steve Cooper’s side, with Keylor Navas taking his place at the City Ground.
Carlisle would be interested in any permanent exit from Manchester United this summer, as he stands to benefit from a sell-on clause following his move from the Blues’ academy in 2011.
