Erik ten Hag released strong  4-2-3-1 lineup to battle Manchester City

In today’s Premier League derby at Old Trafford, Manchester United will look to extend their eight-match winning streak against Manchester City.

The Red Devils have been in fantastic form over the last two months and will try to upset the Cityzens, who have struggled for consistency since the World Cup.

United have the opportunity to revenge their 6-3 loss at the Etihad Stadium in the reverse fixture.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

 Line-up:

David de Gea has been a constant between the posts in the Premier League, and he is a foregone conclusion in the Manchester derby. The Spaniard has been in excellent form recently, making some fantastic saves, and he may have another busy game in goal.

With habitual right-back Diogo Dalot ruled out with a thigh injury, Erik ten Hag will be unable to select his preferred backline. Aaron Wan-Bissaka will almost certainly start in his place. In the past, the 25-year-old has put in some strong defensive performances against the Cityzens.

Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, and Luke Shaw are expected to start in the backline. Martinez’s height was questioned at the start of the season, but the Argentine has won an astonishing 60% of his aerial duels in the league.

Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Bruno Fernandes are certain stars in the center of the park. Casemiro will be crucial in neutralizing the threat posed by Kevin de Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan.

Eriksen and Fernandes are United’s best creative players but the duo will need to provide more defensively. The latter could drop into a deeper midfield position when out of possession.
