Erik ten Hag finally succeed as Man Utd reached full agreement to sign electrifying striker

Man United has reached an agreement to recruit Wout Weghorst, but Besiktas must first find a replacement.

According to respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United has achieved a ‘complete deal’ to sign Burnley striker Wout Weghorst on loan.

The Dutchman has been United manager Erik ten Hag’s top priority for the January transfer window, and he is on the verge of joining the club.

Weghorst is currently on loan at Besiktas, but the Turkish club has agreed to pay a €3 million compensation fee to end his contract.

However, the Super Lig titans will only allow him to leave if they can locate a suitable replacement.

Weghorst joined Burnley from Wolfsburg in the second half of last season but struggled to make an impact, scoring only two Premier League goals.

However, he was playing for a club that had been battling relegation all season. With so much imagination around him at United, he may thrive.

We’ve already discussed how Weghorst’s superior pushing in the final third compared to Anthony Martial could influence the Manchester derby.

After resting Martial yesterday, Weghorst may not start the derby if available, but he may be a game-changer off the bench if United is in contention to win.

Weghorst’s powerful physical and aerial abilities would add a new dimension to United’s attack. He should be registered in time for Saturday’s game.

To be eligible for selection, United must register him by Friday at 12 p.m. GMT. He should be well prepared for the match, having played for Besiktas this season.

Weghorst has had a strong season for Besiktas, scoring nine goals and assisting four more, but his World Cup performance against Argentina was probably his finest.
