Erik ten Hag released list of three strikers to be Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-term replacement

According to the latest rumors, Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is among three players on Manchester United‘s shortlist as they seek a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo departed United by mutual consent during the World Cup and became a free agent.

He subsequently joined Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr, becoming the highest-paid player in the world in the process.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag’s team has yet to find a replacement for the 37-year-old. They have been connected with a loan move for Besiktas striker Wout Weghorst, who is presently on loan at Burnley.

And new reports suggest they have a separate long-term shortlist of players in mind to replace Ronaldo.

According to ESPN, Kane is on United’s radar as a prospective signing – but only if he does not sign a new contract with Tottenham.

The 29-year-old is yet to sign a new contract with Tottenham, and his current agreement expires in the summer of 2024.

According to Football Insider, Spurs have yet to initiate discussions with their star striker, and Kane will monitor the progress of talks between the club and manager Antonio Conte over a new contract for the Italian.

Furthermore, ESPN claims that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is also on United’s radar. This season, the Nigeria international has 11 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions.

Tuttosport reported in October that Napoli will demand £100 million to enable their star striker to leave the club, a figure that would surpass the Red Devils’ transfer record.

Benjamin Sesko of RB Salzburg is thought to be the third striker on the shortlist. However, because the 19-year-old Slovenian wunderkind has committed to join RB Leipzig this summer, this transfer would be more difficult to achieve in the short term.

However, it is alleged that a large bid from another club could force Leipzig to break their agreement.
