Manchester United have already agreed to terms on their second signing of the winter transfer window, but they are rushing to finish the legalities.

According to today’s edition of The Daily Mail (news image provided below), Manchester United is rushing to complete the signing of Wout Weghorst by 12pm today so that the Dutch striker may play in tomorrow’s Derby.

The 30-year-old flew from Turkey to Manchester on a private plane yesterday to complete his medical with the Red Devils.

The British source claim there is a possibility of him taking part in the contest against Manchester City but it is not 100% certain as yet.

It is reported that Man Utd are working fast as they have to seal the loan signing of the veteran by midday today to ensure the player is eligible to feature against the Sky Blues.

According to The Mirror, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag wants Weghorst to be eligible for the match against Pep Guardiola’s club.

In 16 appearances for Besiktas in the first half of the season, the former AZ Alkmaar striker scored eight goals and gave four assists. He scored two goals against Argentina’s Lionel Messi in the FIFA World Cup.

To be honest, even if United is able to register the youngster in time, he is unlikely to start against Man City. Instead, the tall striker may serve as a backup option.
