West Ham United and Newcastle United are both interested in signing Manchester United star Harry Maguire, according to a report.

According to 90 Minutes, Newcastle is leading the race to sign the 30-year-old West Ham target from Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

Maguire is a player on David Moyes’ radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

Manchester United paid around £90 million to sign the uncompromising center-back from Leicester City in the summer of 2019. (talkSPORT).

Unfortunately for the England international, he has struggled to deliver on a consistent basis at Old Trafford. That doesn’t mean he isn’t a truly exceptional player.

And I believe he’ll be a fantastic signing for either West Ham or Newcastle.

However, it appears that we will have our work cut out for us in the race to sign Maguire this summer…

According to 90 Minutes, the Magpies are in pole position to sign the 30-year-old Manchester United defender this summer.

That’s a big blow for West Ham, because I think he’d be a fantastic addition to David Moyes’ squad at the London Stadium.

The former Leicester City defender is a fantastic centre-back, but he just doesn’t fit in with a team that plays a back four and a high line. That explains his struggles with Manchester United.

Look at how effective he is for England in a slightly deeper block with two other center-backs. Over the last few years, he has been an absolute colossus for the Three Lions.

Harry Maguire is also very underrated with the ball at his feet, and the way he drives forward up the pitch is a sight to behold.

Luke Shaw, a teammate of the 53-cap England international, recently described him as “unbelievable” (The Mirror). I agree with the Manchester United left-back – the 30-year-old is one of the best in the game.

Unfortunately for West Ham, it appears that Newcastle will be the first to sign Harry Maguire this summer.

And if the Toon get their hands on the 30-year-old, it will very much be their gain and our loss.
