New York Yankees star Jazz Chisholm has spicy response for torpedo bat haters: ‘You’re idiots’
New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. offered up a very spicy retort to MLB fans angered by the team’s stunning success this week with their new weapon: Torpedo bats.
The Yanks blew the doors off the Milwaukee Brewers in their three-game season-opening series this past week. But what made it different than the usual three-game sweep was the shocking display of power from New York’s bats. In the club’s last two games, they scored 32 runs and smashed 12 home runs.
New York Yankees stats (2025): 3 G, 15 HR, 35 RBIs, 82 TB, .333 AVG, .427 OBP, .804 SLG, 1.231 OPS
The Yankees lineup was expected to be good in 2025. But not this good. And fans received an explanation on Sunday when it was revealed that many of the players that hit homers on Saturday used a new torpedo bat designed by a former MIT physicist on the team’s staff.
The revelation has led to outrage among MLB fans around the baseball spectrum. With some claiming the Bronx Bombers are cheating with the use of their new weapon. However, all indications are that the bat is completely legal and approved by the league.
New York Yankees star Jazz Chisholm Jr. calls fans idiots as torpedo bats debate rages
That was at the heart of a spicy Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. had for fans this weekend on X.
“Okay, explanation. The barrel is bigger and within MLB regulation,” he began by saying. “For the idiots that say it’s moved to the label, you’re an idiot! Nobody is trying to get jammed; you just move the wood from the parts you don’t use to the parts you do! You’re welcome. No more stress for y’all!”
