Newcastle United have posted a video of the lads in training today ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League encounter with Borussia Dortmund.
We’ve already seen that Sandro Tonali has taken part in today’s session, but now the club has released a video showing the squad preparing for the big game.
One person who was noticeable in the video was 24-year-old midfielder Joe Willock, which is brilliant news.
The £25 million former Arsenal man has been dropping plenty of hints on social media that he’s due to return to action soon, and now it seems he’s taken the next step towards that by joining in full training.
It’ll be too soon for Willock to play a part in the game against Borussia Dortmund tomorrow, so he will have to wait for his Champions League debut.
Before the last international break, Eddie Howe had suggested that Willock would be back in training in late October and likely ready to play again in November.
Willock’s return would have been a boost anyway, but the timing is fantastic
It looks as though everything is on track for that, but imagine the boost it would give if we saw his name on the bench tomorrow night.
Again, it’s unlikely he’ll get on the pitch but just seeing his name on the bench could give everyone a lift.
Sandro Tonali is set to find out how long he will be suspended for any day now, so the fact that Willock is so close to a return really couldn’t have been timed any better.
