Newcastle’s main injury concern is Fabian Schar, who missed last weekend’s game at Manchester City due to the aftereffects of a concussion suffered during the Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester United.
Schar has a history of concussions, so Newcastle’s medical staff will be cautious as they ease the defender back into action. If Schar is unable to play on Sunday, Jamaal Lascelles will likely start alongside Sven Botman in the back four.
Joelinton is definitely out after picking up his tenth booking of the season against Manchester City, so Joe Willock is set to return to the starting side.
Bruno Guimaraes suffered an ankle injury against Manchester City, but he has trained this week and is expected to play.
Eddie Howe must decide whether to start Callum Wilson, who is out of form, or Alexander Isak, who caught the eye after coming off the bench at the Etihad Stadium.
Newcastle (probable, 4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Lascelles, Botman, Burn; Guimaraes, Longstaff, Willock; Almiron, Isak, Gordon.
Wolves have been struggling in the bottom half of the table for the majority of the season, but they climbed to 13th after a 1-0 win over Tottenham last weekend.
That was their first win in four games, and it put them five points ahead of the bottom three heading into their trip to Tyneside.
Diego Costa is a doubt after being forced off in the first half of the win over Spurs; if he does not play, Raul Jimenez, who came off the bench at the weekend, will take his place in attack.
Hee-Chan Hwang and Boubacar Traore could return to Julen Lopetegui’s squad following injury, but Sasa Kalajdzic and Chiquinho remain out.
Wolves (probable, 4-2-3-1): Sa; Semedo, Dawson, Kilman, Jonny; Neves, Lemina; Sarabia, Nunes, Neto; Jimenez.
