The absolute last thing that Newcastle United need right now is another injury to a first-team player.
Bruno Guimaraes along with Joelinton is off to represent Brazil during this international break making it a nervy time for Geordies who are already cursing Newcastle’s weakened squad.
A two-week break would be ideal right now if it weren’t for all the players jetting off on international duty meaning they don’t get to train with the club, they don’t really get to rest and they literally put themselves in harm’s way by playing extra games.
Bruno has been posting cryptic tweets in the middle of the night
Just after midnight last night, Bruno Guimaraes put up a post on X that contained just three emojis: a foot, a fire and the anger symbol.
We know that Bruno has been struggling with an ankle injury for a long time now and maybe it has flared up again.
Fans are speculating now what it means and are terrified that it could mean he’s picked up a knock.
We just hope that Bruno is fit and ready to face Chelsea in two weeks
Of course, on the flip side, it could just mean he is ready to do what he does, and in fairness, his Instagram reels show that he’s happy and loving his life in Brazil right now with no sign of injury.
Whatever it means, only he knows right now, but we’ll find out in a few days when Brazil take on Colombia and whether he’s in the starting lineup.
We sorely missed Bruno at the weekend when we played Bournemouth after he was forced to sit out through suspension, so we really, really, really hope that he comes back from international duty unscathed and ready to go.
