According to the Northern Echo, Newcastle United are trying to finalize a deal for Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes before the squad departs for their pre-season tour next week.

The Magpies are nearing an agreement in which they will pay a sum of £35 million plus an additional £5 million in add-ons.

Newcastle are confident that a deal can be reached soon for Barnes to fly to Tyneside for a physical and to sign a contract.
The Magpies want the winger in place before their pre-season tour begins in the second half of next week.
Eddie Howe would like to include Barnes into his squad when they are in the United States because he believes he would fit fairly fast.
