According to a story in The Telegraph, Newcastle are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Livramento.

Eddie Howe is said to be interested on bringing Livramento to St James’ Park, and talks are ongoing.

Livramento has previously played both right and left back, indicating that he can provide the versatility Howe seeks.

The 20-year-old can now compete with both Kieran Trippier and Dan Burn, and his arrival does not rule out the possibility of another left back signing.

Livramento missed the majority of last season owing to a serious injury, appearing in just two Premier League games for a total of 26 minutes.

Newcastle is depending on Livramento resuming his old form once completely recovered and ready to go.

We can see why Newcastle wants Livramento.

After joining Southampton for just £5 million, the former Chelsea star was tremendously impressive in the 2021-22 season.

Livramento, who is quick and full of talent, has the potential to become a star at Newcastle if he can regain his form.

Newcastle fans will be thrilled with this agreement, but one Magpies player may be perplexed and frustrated.

In January, Harrison Ashby joined Newcastle from West Ham United, and the concept appeared identical.

A young right defender with a lot of potential who could one day succeed Kieran Trippier.

Despite this, Newcastle are looking to sign another right-footed full back in Livramento.

Ashby will almost certainly be loaned out this season;

Newcastle may want to move forward with both Livramento and Ashby in the years after Trippier, although the Scot may be concerned about getting enough playing time.
