Eddie Howe makes Premier League history by leading Newcastle to 15-match unbeaten streak.

  • Newcastle drew 0-0 with Palace
  • The result made it 15 matches unbeaten
  • Howe first English manager to achieve the feat

Howe’s 15-game unbeaten run in the Premier League is the longest in the division by any English manager in the Premier League‘s history. Former Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is second with 14 games unbeaten between May and November 2011, while former Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce had 13 games unbeaten between April and September 2005.

The result was not only a watershed moment for Howe, but also for Newcastle, as their record of 15 games without defeat was the first in the club’s top-flight history. Despite the Magpies’ third draw in four games, their lack of goals conceded cemented their position as the league’s greatest defensive team, with only 11 goals conceded all season.

WHAT COMES NEXT?

Despite a historic evening for both Howe and Newcastle, they will be looking to return to winning ways in the Carabao Cup semi-finals against Southampton on Tuesday.
