Reuters, September 20 – After the Premier League team left a hostile San Siro with a 0-0 draw, Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe said the significance of picking up a point at AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday could not be understated.
Newcastle, who are participating in the tournament for the first time in 20 years, are in a challenging group with Paris St. Germain and Borussia Dortmund, and Howe suggested that leaving Milan with a draw would be crucial to their prospects of moving on.

You shouldn’t undervalue the challenges of traveling here, Howe said. “The emotion of the game, new experiences, we had to take a lot on board today.”
“I thought the crowd were very good for Milan. It was a hostile atmosphere, and the players had to adjust to that, and that is why I don’t think you can underestimate the performance and point.
“It will look better and better as time goes on.”
Newcastle next visit Sheffield United in the league on Sunday.
