Bruno Guimaraes is refusing to let his desire to play in the Champions League in a Newcastle United shirt cloud his judgment ahead of the visit to Villa Park.
When asked about his ambitions at St James’ Park, Bruno has never held back, stating that he believed the club could be a global force from day one as a player. And he is fully aware that participating in the UEFA Champions League will help him achieve his own lofty goals as a player.

But, with a top-four spot clearly within Newcastle’s grasp, Bruno chose to be cautious for the time being. When asked if he was thinking about the Champions League, Bruno replied, “Not yet, there are still too many games to play.” We’re on our way, but we can’t worry about the Champions League just yet. It’s game by game, but we’ll fight until the very finish.”
A win in the second city against Unai Emery’s men would put Newcastle in a strong position for the potential Champions League decider next Sunday.
When asked if it may all come down to the visit of Tottenham Hotspur, with Newcastle three points ahead of the London club with a game in hand, Bruno replied, “We are not thinking about Tottenham now.” Our priority is to recuperate and think about Aston Villa. They are performing admirably and won last week as well.
