Negotiations on going to sign classic defender as agent arrived St James’ Park for final conclusion

Newcastle United are in the process of securing the futures of certain players at St James’ Park, and Dan Burn could be next in line for a new deal.

According to the Chronicle, there is talk of Newcastle offering Burn a new contract in the near future.

The Magpies have already extended the contracts of Kieran Trippier and Miguel Almiron, and there is constant speculation that Bruno Guimaraes will agree to a better deal.

According to recent reports, the club hopes to reach an agreement with the Brazilian before the end of the season.

Nick Pope may be rewarded for his excellent play with a new contract, according to reports. That would be surprising given his recent arrival at St James’ Park.

But, with these new contracts, Newcastle is laying the groundwork for the future, and Burn may be able to extend his stay at the club.

Burn’s arrival at Newcastle in January received little notice. He signed a two-and-a-half year contract with his boyhood club for £13 million from Brighton.

There wasn’t a lot of fanfare. He was merely viewed as a steady Premier League player who was getting the chance to play for the team that he has supported all his life.

However, he quickly established himself as a masterful signing by the Magpies. Burn was outstanding last season and has continued to perform admirably this season. He has mostly played left-back and has performed admirably away from his preferred position.

The 30-year-old has emerged as a true leader at St James’ Park and an important member of Howe’s squad. That is why, with his current contract set to expire in 2024, he deserves a contract extension.

Burn has been reliable ever since his Tyneside return, and knows exactly what it means to wear the black and white stripes of Newcastle United. That makes him even more valuable to Howe, who knows that Burn still has a lot to offer this ongoing Toon project.
