Newcastle release list of two players that there are locked in talk to sign this summer

Newcastle are still in talks with Leicester’s Harvey Barnes and Southampton’s Tino Livramento, according to Craig Hope of The Mail.

He’s been told that a “few things need to fall into place” in order to finalize a deal for Barnes, while our chase of Livramento remains “live.” However, given our ongoing battle with FFP regulations, the club must send players on to make room for more incomings and “juggle.”

With this in mind, the North East reporter has also doubled down on the transfer budget claims he released last month. Back in June, he claimed that we had £75m to spend, claiming that amount could increase beyond the £100m mark through player sales.

He’s told his 80,000 Twitter followers that the situation hasn’t changed in a few weeks. He believes there is room to spend roughly £100 million, with ‘wiggle room’ if further cash can be found, but insists there isn’t much left after a £52 million move for Sandro Tonali.

According to The Mail’s Tom Collomosse, his colleague in the Midlands, we’re considering a £30 million approach for Barnes. If it is successful, our spending would exceed £80 million, and we will still require a left-back, center-back, and additional midfielder.
