After securing a return to the Champions League, the Magpies may be able to lure players who were previously out of their reach. The transfer gossip mill has been churning all summer, and the latest name to be linked with a move to St James’ Park is Juventus’ Federico Chiesa.
Chiesa may be permitted to leave the Old Lady this summer, and Newcastle, who can provide him Champions League play next season, have been linked with him. According to several reports, the 25-year-old winger is being ‘offered’ to English clubs this summer as Juventus looks to offload him before the transfer season closes.
According to the Mail, Aston Villa, who just confirmed the signing of highly-rated defender Pau Torres from Villareal, have been’sounded out’ as a possible destination for Chiesa, although their lack of Champions League football could be a deal stumbling block.
