According to Six Foot Two, Newcastle has initiated an investigation into signing West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta this summer.
The respected London Stadium website said [15 July] that the Brazilian’s new agent may arrange a move to St James’ Park.
He just switched agents and will now be represented by TFM Agency, which is owned 50% by Roc Nation, which was created by rapper Jay-Z.
Newcastle may make a sizable offer to Paqueta that he finds difficult to turn down.
He simply went to the London Stadium last summer and lacks the loyalty of a player who has been there for years.
At the end of the day, he will look out for his best interests and will see that a Champions League club is willing to pay a high price for him.
David Moyes will not want two of his best midfielders to leave in the same transfer window.
He’s already dealing with the absence of Declan Rice, who is now a West Ham player, and replacing him will be difficult.
As a result, the loss of Paqueta may be too much to bear, and the leadership may go to great lengths to keep him at the club for another year.
