Newcastle seriously pushing hard in race to sign La Liga star

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Newcastle are watching Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra ‘very closely’ after his impressive start to the season.

The 20-year-old has already notched three goals and an assist in six La Liga games and is considered to be the next big thing at at the Mestalla.

It’s believed that Newcastle see Guerra is a ‘top talent’ and are scouting him in ‘every game’, with Manchester United also big admirers of the young Spaniard.

Marca add that he’s protected by a whopping £87m release clause, but report that both Newcastle and Man Utd believe a much lower fee could be negotiated with Valencia owner Peter Lim.

Though we have not made any contact regarding a possible move for the exciting youngster, it sounds like we’re showing serious interest ahead of the January transfer window. Another one to watch in our ongoing search for some of Europe’s top talent?
