Newcastle United beat Arsenal in race to sign Crystal Palace strong centre-back

Arsenal are apparently interested in signing Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, but Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are a stumbling block.

The Sun (24/6; page 68) said that Arsenal and Premier League rivals Crystal Palace want to sign Marc Guehi in the summer transfer window, but so do Newcastle United.

The Gunners are reportedly willing to pay up to £45 million for the 22-year-old England international center defender.

But Newcastle is as well.

According to the British tabloid, Palace is hoping for more than £50 million in transfer fees to cash in on Guehi this summer.

Marc Guehi to Arsenal or Newcastle United?

Arsenal may be able to sign Marc Guehi ahead of Newcastle United in the summer transfer season, in our opinion.

Of course, Arsenal and Newcastle will have to pay Crystal Palace’s asking price for the 22-year-old defender first and foremost.

If both the Gunners and the Magpies do this, it will come down to whatever club the child prefers.

We feel Guehi would prefer Arsenal to Newcastle.

Yes, Newcastle is a big and established Premier League team that will compete in the UEFA Champions League next season, but Arsenal is bigger and a global brand.

Arsenal are making strides under manager Mikel Arteta, and given how well they performed last season, it appears that the Gunners are returning to their former glory.

Furthermore, the Gunners have a very good youth team, and Guehi would fit in wonderfully at the North London club.
