Birmingham’s latest Aston Villa newsTottenham winger Lucas Moura is expected to become a free agent this summer, according to reports.
Aston Villa have reportedly approached Tottenham star Lucas Moura about a summer transfer.
Following a five-year tenure in north London, the 30-year-old’s contract expires this summer. Moura was extensively linked with a move to Villa Park last year after his game time at Spurs was limited.
After a few months, the Brazilian is yet to start a match for the London club this season. In 13 league games, he has only played 116 minutes.
Contract talks are becoming increasingly improbable, with Moura falling behind Dejan Kulusevski in the pecking order. According to the Brazilian newspaper Torcedores, Spurs have informed him that he is “free” to speak with other teams and consider any offers he may receive.
Representatives from Villa, Newcastle United, and Wolves are alleged to have recently approached the player. AS Roma, Lazio, and Marseille have also expressed interest. Flamengo is also interested, however Moura appears to prefer to stay in Europe.
Junior Pedroso, Moura’s agent, stated, “There is no movement in that direction [Brazil].” We are researching options in Europe to determine the best path for Lucas.”
