Newcastle United beat Man Utd to sign their own £60m Erling Haaland this summer

Dusan Vlahovic has been linked to both Newcastle United and Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer season.

Both the Magpies and the Red Devils will be aiming to add to their squads ahead of a crucial season.

Newcastle has re-entered the Champions League. Meanwhile, Manchester United only needs one point to secure their participation in the competition.

The Magpies and the Red Devils are only two of the clubs interested in Vlahovic, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Calciomercato.

Man United appear to be moving forward with a bid for the Juventus and Serbia sensation.

According to Football Transfers, the Red Devils intend to make an official bid worth around £60 million.

Transfer expert Dean Jones told GiveMeSport how important Vlahovic may become for Erik ten Hag.

Jones believes the 23-year-old might become their Erling Haaland.

“The news about Juve losing points obviously tests their resolve if an offer for Vlahovic comes in,” Jones remarked.

“However, if a big club comes in for him and offers Champions League football, it puts the player’s loyalty to the test.”

“Right now, the message coming out of Turin is that they are very confident he will stay.”

“However, it will be interesting to see if United is tempted to put that to the test properly.”

“Obviously, Chelsea has an interest here as well, so keep an eye out.”

“However, he is a player United rate highly behind Kane and Osimhen, which fits with their need for an out-and-out No. 9.”

“He’d become their own Haaland, and I think the fans would love him if they could make it happen.”

Although Jones’ words are specific to Manchester United, Newcastle must be thinking, “Vlahovic could become OUR own Haaland.”

After all, the Magpies, like the Red Devils, can promise Champions League football at the end of the season.

Furthermore, because Newcastle has significant financial muscle, they have the potential to outbid almost everyone else.

Obviously, that is not how the Magpies have handled their transfer business. And that has been fantastic because they have assembled a strong team.

Nonetheless, now that Newcastle has qualified for the Champions League, they may attempt to boost the ante in the summer window.
