Newcastle United and Manchester United are both said to be interested in signing French international defender Axel Disasi.

Newcastle have addressed the player and his representation this week, according to Fabrizio Romano, and they are set to contact Monaco as well.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, on the other hand, has already approved a move for the 25-year-old central defender, and the Red Devils have also held conversations with the player’s representation.

It’ll be intriguing to watch whether both clubs decide to make a formal bid to his club in the coming weeks.

Disasi has established his worth in Ligue 1, and he may be a valuable addition to both clubs’ Premier League squads.

Manchester United need to sign a quality central defender, especially with players like Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, and Harry Maguire connected with exits.

Newcastle, on the other hand, had a fantastic defensive unit last season, but they need to start thinking about the future. Fabian Schar and Dan Burn are both in their 30s, and Eddie Howe should seek a long-term partner for Sven Botman.

The French international could turn out to be a good buy for them.

Newcastle and Manchester United are both in the Champions League and will be appealing destinations for the player.

Disasi will be seeking to demonstrate his abilities at the top level, and the prospect to play in the Premier League may be too good to pass up.

Both clubs have the financial clout to close the deal, and it will be intriguing to see how things play out.
