Newcastle United to launch new transfer bit to sign a left-back, new winger, and a creative midfielder

Fabrizio Romano revealed in his latest Newcastle transfer update that the club will look for a left-back, a new winger, and a creative midfielder this summer, with a new deal for James Maddison on the cards.

The Foxes turned down multiple bids for the midfielder in the summer, hoping to get close to £60 million for him, but Romano is ‘certain’ that Newcastle will try again in the coming months.

We’ve been looking for an attacking midfielder for a while, but Miguel Almiron‘s goals had somewhat obscured our lack of depth, so we didn’t really address it in January.

But there is now hope that our owners are aware of the situation and are planning to bring in a number of top players to close the quality gap between us and the top.

It’s unclear whether we’ll have to compete with other clubs for his signature – Manchester City had previously expressed interest in the 26-year-old – but Newcastle clearly remain big fans of his.

Romano stated the following on the House of Champions Podcast:

“I expect a new left-back to join the club – this is one of the priorities they’ll have in the summer. Also a new winger – they explored this market a few months ago – then a creative midfielder.

“There is a player they really love who is James Maddison who is doing very well with Leicester. He is a player they always had on top of their list and I am sure they will try again before the summer.

“I don’t know how much competition there will be because this kind of player is always on the list of big clubs, but Newcastle will be there.

“They will be busy in the summer. They will always be with the same strategy – not wasting money but trusting the right players for the present and future.”

  1. Right here is the right website for anyone who really wants to understand this topic. You realize so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that I really will need toÖHaHa). You definitely put a fresh spin on a topic that has been written about for decades. Great stuff, just wonderful!

  2. The next time I read a blog, Hopefully it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, Yes, it was my choice to read, but I truly thought you would probably have something interesting to talk about. All I hear is a bunch of complaining about something you can fix if you werent too busy searching for attention.
