According to rumors, Newcastle United will try to capture Premier League standout James Maddison this summer.
According to the Telegraph, Newcastle will make an offer for Maddison at the end of the season.
They will only proceed if the gamer is eager to go. They do not want to be perceived as a player’s backup.
The good news for the club is that the Magpies have been made aware that the Leicester City offensive midfielder appears to be receptive to a move to Newcastle.
Eddie Howe sees Maddison as a ‘long-term’ objective. They have several midfielders on the roster, but the English international is the best option.
Maddison is a dynamic attacking midfielder. So far in his career, he has 78 goals and 66 assists. This includes 10 Premier League goals this season.
The 26-year-old has recently been called up to the England squad. He would be an excellent addition to a Newcastle squad in desperate need of talent.
If Newcastle qualify for the Champions League, the £60 million star will no doubt be even more intrigued by the move. This appears to be the case.
Over the years, many have lauded him, with analyst Gary Lineker describing him as “exceptional.” If the Magpies can sign him before the end of the season, it would be a huge coup.
With Leicester potentially relegated, Maddison will want to make a move as soon as the transfer window opens.
