Newcastle United now agreed to a double transfer swoop deal as bid accepted

Newcastle United are likely to sign two academy players in the coming weeks.

Newcastle United are allegedly set to buy Port Vale youngster Michael Mills after the League One club accepted a proposal.

According to Football Insider, the 14-year-old winger impressed while on trial, and the Magpies have moved quickly to capture his services despite interest from a number of clubs. The offer could be increased to £200,000, according to reports.

The academy has received a lot of attention when the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, PCP Partners, and RB Sports & Media took over the Magpies in October 2021. Dan Ashworth, the academy’s sporting director, has revamped it by introducing a number of new coaching and scouting posts.

Aside from staffing, Newcastle has attracted some promising young players. Alex Murphy came from League of Ireland club Galway United last summer, while Scotland youth international Charlie McArthur relocated from Kilmarnock.

Newcastle United are poised to complete the signing of Gambian winger Yankuba Minteh from Norwegian club Odense Boldklub for £6 million in the coming weeks.

The 18-year-old is anticipated to follow Garang Kuol’s developmental path. The Australian joined Hearts on loan from A-League side Central Coast Mariners in January.
