“I wouldn’t even rule out a double American raid from Newcastle because I think there’ll be some temptation to look at Brenden Aaronson,” the former Eurosport journalist told GIVEMESPORT.
“Tyler Adams definitely fits one of the midfielder roles that they’re looking for as well.”
Despite a good start to the season under Jesse Marsch, Aaronson eventually proved to be a disappointment after his long-awaited arrival last summer.
Adams proved to be the more astute signing, and while the club would like to keep the latter, particularly for the Championship [The Athletic, 1 June], it will be difficult when Premier League clubs are interested.
Newcastle have made significant gains since being funded by Saudi money, most notably qualifying for the Champions League, making it easier for them to sell players on such a prospect when contrasted to the second tier.
