Cristiano Ronaldo could be on the move again in the coming months, with the striker apparently dissatisfied with his current club, Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

The 38-year-old only recently joined the club, but things have not gone as planned for the former Manchester United striker. According to rumours, the Portugal legend is ready to depart Al-Nassr after struggling to settle. The language barrier and cultural differences have been cited as reasons why Ronaldo wants to end his career in Saudi Arabia despite signing a contract until 2025.

His preferred destination appears to be a return to Real Madrid, but a move as a player appears doubtful, with the Spanish giants only willing to offer Ronaldo a non-playing job as an ambassador. Along with Brazilian sensation Neymar, the frontman has been linked with a move to the Premier League and Newcastle United, but Magpies coach Eddie Howe has dismissed any potential deal.

The Newcastle manager told Chronicle Live at his news conference ahead of the Arsenal game: “I think that kind of speculation has been there since day one, since the takeover really.”

“Of course, everyone assumed that the biggest names in world football would be coming to Newcastle.” We haven’t recruited that manner yet, and we can’t afford to do so right now, but we do need to bring in the appropriate players.

“I will say that the transfer market is such a complex decision that it requires a lot of thought.” You can’t just pick a name; there has to be a lot of consideration put into it, both monetarily and in terms of player research.”

“I’m not sure who we’ve been linked with,” Howe continued. Answering these questions is challenging. The transfer window is in the distance and is currently secondary. We are concentrating on training. We won’t know where we stand until next year.
