Positive response from Chelsea as Newcastle holds deep talks to sign attacking winger

According to 90min, Newcastle United have held productive negotiations with Hakim Ziyech’s representation as they ponder a January transfer window move for the Chelsea forward.

Ziyech is one of the players Chelsea is willing to let go in the current transfer window. For much of the season, the 29-year-old has been in and out of the starting lineup. In fact, prior to his current run of four consecutive Premier League outings, the Morocco international had not appeared in back-to-back league games all season.

Chelsea would prefer to permanently offload Ziyech. The Magpies, on the other hand, would prefer a loan deal because they do not want to spend huge sums during this window. However, they are considering making a move if a good chance arises.

Ziyech has been a disappointment for Chelsea. He cost well under £38 million in all. And he has only shown flashes of his talent while at Stamford Bridge.

But before joining the Blues, he was a formidable opponent for Ajax. In fact, in 165 games with the Dutch giants, he scored 49 goals and assisted 81 others. And, at 29, he has the potential to have an impact on Eddie Howe‘s side’s fortunes for the rest of the season.

He possesses ‘amazing’ talent. And he may appreciate the opportunity to demonstrate his abilities elsewhere. So you’d think he’d jump at the chance if Newcastle followed through on their desire.
