Alabama Football Makes Jalen Milroe Announcement Ahead of Week 14

Week 13 didn’t go as planned for the No. 13 Alabama Crimson Tide, as they suffered a sluggish upset loss to the unranked Oklahoma Sooners, 24-3, significantly dampening their College Football Playoff hopes.

Now, the Crimson Tide enter Week 14 facing their bitter rivals, the Auburn Tigers, in the famous Iron Bowl. Alabama hopes to close out their first season under head coach Kalen DeBoer on a high note and keep any faint playoff hopes alive, but they’ll need help from other teams.

Despite the tough outing from star quarterback Jalen Milroe, Alabama made some well-deserved announcements recognizing Milroe’s impressive season.

He was officially named a finalist for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, which honors the nation’s top offensive player in college football. The award is named after the legendary Earl Campbell, a Texas Longhorns icon.

This season, Milroe has accumulated 2,396 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, 615 rushing yards, and an impressive 17 rushing touchdowns. He has truly emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in the country, and when he’s using his legs, he’s nearly unstoppable.

However, in Alabama’s three losses this season, Milroe has been held to under 40 rushing yards in each game. When forced to be one-dimensional, he’s less effective, and Alabama saw the consequences of that in those losses.

Nonetheless, Milroe’s career at Alabama has been remarkable, and he is expected to be one of the top quarterbacks selected in the 2025 NFL Draft this April.
