The Ohio State football team has had a few players enter the transfer portal already. While the transfer portal doesn’t officially open until Monday, a few Buckeyes have already indicated their plans to enter. None of them are too big of a loss for the Buckeyes yet, which is good.
Players from all across the country have been entering the portal. They are all hoping for better situations where they can either get more playing time or make a bigger impact. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side, though. One former Buckeye is learning that the hard way.
Some former Buckeyes haven’t made the kind of impact that they thought they were going to. Julian Fleming hasn’t done much at Penn State. Dallan Hayden didn’t get much time at Colorado. One former Buckeye has decided to enter the portal for a second time.
Ex-Ohio State football player enters the transfer portal for the second time
Ben Christman, a former Ohio State offensive lineman, has decided to enter the transfer portal. This is the second time that he has entered the portal. He transferred from Ohio State to play at Kentucky instead. Christman will now leave Kentucky for somewhere else.
It’s unclear where Christman might end up. He will likely end up at a lower-level school at this point. He has played for a Big Ten and an SEC school now, so he’ll probably have to play at a MAC school at this point. That might be the only conference where he would see some playing time.
Christman is an Akron native, so perhaps he would look into transferring there. That would be the level of school that the former Buckeye could thrive in. I can’t say it’s shocking that he’s transferring for the second time, though. That’s what happens when you don’t start.
