The 10-1 Ohio State Buckeyes will finish their regular-season schedule with a season-finale matchup against the rival Michigan Wolverines on Saturday.

The vibes are high in Columbus following last weekend’s dominant win over the No. 5 Indiana Hoosiers. Ohio State is favored by 20.5 points over the visiting Wolverines, who’ve struggled through their 2024 college football season after winning last year’s National Championship.

Every year, prominent Ohio State figures come out to support the Buckeyes in The Game. For this season’s edition of the game, the program will welcome a special guest who doesn’t often attend the rivalry matchup.

On Tuesday morning, legendary Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said he plans to attend Saturday’s game. The former program leader hasn’t attended an edition of the rivalry in years.

Tressel served as Ohio State’s head coach from 2001-2010, amassing a 106-22 overall record and six bowl game victories. Tressel went 9-1 against rival Michigan during his 10-year career with the Buckeyes.

The NCAA later vacated the Buckeyes’ 2010 season, removing 12 wins and a Sugar Bowl victory from Tressel’s record.

Ryan Day and Ohio State are primed for a deep run in this year’s College Football Playoff. The team’s only loss this season came in a one-point defeat at the hands of the No. 1 Oregon Ducks.

Saturday’s game against Michigan will kickoff at noon EST in Columbus.
