Anthony Elanga could join Nottingham Forest exodus

Anthony Elanga could leave Nottingham Forest if they are relegated from the Premier League this season.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke admitted Elanga has impressed since arriving at the City Ground.

The Swedish international joined the Reds for £15million from Manchester United last summer, with his contract set to run until 2028.

O’Rourke revealed Forest could potentially have to move some players on once the transfer window opens to help balance the books following their well-documented financial issues.

The 22-year-old winger is one of the players who is likely to attract the most attention, but his future could depend on which division the club are playing in next season.

Nottingham Forest could be forced to sell Anthony Elanga

It was seen by many interested onlookers as quite the coup when Forest secured a permanent deal for Elanga last summer.

The Swede had previously shown plenty of promise for Man United to suggest he could have been a future star at Old Trafford.

But after seeing his opportunities fairly limited under Erik ten Hag last season, he decided to go and show what he could do elsewhere.

Although the Reds have faced various challenges during this campaign, the winger has impressed with his performances, scoring five goals and laying on eight assists in 34 Premier League matches.

Nuno Espirito Santo will be hoping to secure Forest’s place in the top flight over the next couple of weeks and then start building for a brighter future with the likes of Elanga in his side.
