Bad News for Nottingham Forest as key player in deep potential scam problem

Nottingham Forest may be preparing to return to Premier League action, but Gustavo Scarpa is still dealing with a nagging issue.

According to Brazilian media, the midfielder lost nearly £1 million in a cryptocurrency investment with Xland and is attempting to recoup that money.

Globo Esporte has brought the latest news on this case, claiming that the Nottingham Forest midfielder won the legal battle. But, unfortunately, that doesn’t mean much.

Firstly, he tried to block the R$5.36m (£840k) he invested from leaving Xland’s bank account, but all the Brazilian courts found there was R$674 (£106).

Scarpa then went in search of a suitcase full of jewels, which had been presented to him as a guarantee during the investment process. He was told it was worth R$2.1 billion (£330 million) at the time.

However, when the court contacted the security company in charge of the so-called alexandrites, it was discovered that Xland only paid R$6k (£940) for them.

To summarize, the company that duped the Nottingham Forest player does not have the money or the goods, and the player will continue to struggle to recoup his investment.
