BREAKING NEWS: Nottingham Forest confirm new date and time for Tottenham fixture as statement released

Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as Reds’ match with Tottenham Hotspur has been rescheduled

Nottingham Forest’s Premier League match with Tottenham Hotspur has been brought forward by one day.

Forest were due to face Spurs in the capital on Monday, April 8 (8pm kick-off) but due to travel strikes and disruption, the game will now take place on Sunday, April 7 in a late change. A new kick-off time of 6pm has been agreed.

A 24-hour strike will affect London Underground services on April 8, the original fixture date. There will be a protest over long-running disputes regarding pay and conditions.

A club statement read: “Nottingham Forest’s Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur has been rearranged due to travel strikes and disruption.

“Our trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will now take place on Sunday 7 April (kick-off 6:00pm BST). The Premier League apologises unreservedly to supporters of both Clubs, and all those affected, for the inconvenience and disruption caused by this late fixture change.

“The change has been made due to matters beyond the League’s control, namely the decision to implement rail and tube strikes on Monday 8 April and the subsequent reduction in available travel services. This has resulted in the local authority’s Safety Advisory Group determining that it is not possible to stage the match with the required levels of safety for attending fans. The match remains selected for live UK broadcast on Sky Sports.”

Regular rail services are also expected to cause disruption on this day, with the following lines involved: Greater Anglia, c2c, GTR Great Northern Thameslink, Southeastern, Southern/Gatwick Express, South Western Railway main line and depot drivers, and SWR Island Line.

Forest will return to action this weekend when they host Crystal Palace on Saturday (3pm).
