BREAKING NEWS: Nottingham Forest very interested in £25m defender who could replace Nuno Tavares

Nottingham Forest now have their eyes on a new left-back this summer with Omar Richards potentially heading for the exit doors again.

Another player who is set to leave Nottingham Forest is Nuno Tavares with his loan spell at the City Ground coming to an end.

The Portuguese left-back spent the 2023/24 campaign at Forest from Arsenal where he racked up just five starts in the Premier League.

Clearly a player who Nuno Espirito Santo does not hold in his plans, Forest are in need of bolstering their options at left-back.

With Omar Richards future at the club also up in the air, Nuno could be going into summer preparations with just Harry Toffolo in than position.

Forest eyeing Ligue 1 left-back who impressed last season

Forest have already made big steps in the summer transfer window by activating the release clause for Corinthians goalkeeper Carlos Miguel.

However, having finished just above the relegation zone last season, Forest have some considerable work to do over the coming months.

Keeping hold of some of their better players like Murillo and Morgan Gibbs-White will be of huge importance to Nuno with Forest putting massive price-tags on the pair.

But finding some additions for the position of left-back will be on Evangelos Marinakis‘ radar too as they say goodbye to Tavares.

According to L’equipe, Forest are one of the sides who are showing an interest in Stade Brestois’ Bradley Locko.

The report claims clubs from England, Germany and Italy are all showing an interest in the left-back who made 33 appearances in Ligue 1 last season.

Although Forest are needing to comply with the PSR rules by the end of June, they are seriously considering a move for the left-back currently training with France’s squad for the Olympics.

Bradley Locko could provide Forest major upgrade

Having helped Brest secure Champions League football last season, Locko would be giving up a lot to make the move to the City Ground.

The left-back was dubbed in L’equipe’s report as the ‘best left back in Ligue 1 over the past season’.

Although the 22-year-old may only have racked up three assists in the league, he showed just how influential he could be for Nuno’s side if they are to make an approach.

Given Brest are set to play in the Champions League, they will be unlikely to be allow Locko to leave this summer for anything other than a considerable amount of money which has been reported as £25m.
