For the past couple of weeks, Carlos Miguel has been living a tough situation at Corinthians prior to his transfer to Nottingham Forest.
The player has been accused of faking an ankle injury to avoid playing before the move. For this reason, the Brazilian club don’t want him in the squad any more, and took him out of training.
Today, Globo Esporte feature a story giving Carlos Miguel’s side of the story, and that may actually be very interesting for Nottingham Forest.
That’s because the player’s camp insists that the injury is real, and there are some details about that ankle issue.
It’s said Carlos Miguel has been taking injections to be able to play, having done that before the last four matches he took part in. It’s said that physical issue is ‘recurrent’ and the Brazilian club have been aware of it.
Since becoming a starter, the goalkeeper has played 11 times, and in nine games he didn’t need the injections. Then last week, in training, he reportedly twisted his ankle and believed he couldn’t play. That’s when the whole drama started, with Corinthians not believing there was a real injury and their manager speaking put publicly against him.
Carlos Miguel is now training separately from the squad. Contrary to recent reports, Globo Esporte claims that he’s still to have his medical with Nottingham Forest, and that’s set to take place at the start of July. In case that ankle issue is so serious, we’ll see if the Reds will find any problems with it.
