Nicola Zalewski, a Roma midfielder, is a target for Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window. West Ham and Bournemouth are also interested in the versatile midfielder.
According to Il Messaggero, the Reds want to test Roma’s determination during the transfer window. Zalewski’s current deal expires in two years, and teams are eager to take advantage of that.
The 21-year-old is regarded as a gifted player with a promising future. However, the player has a good amount of regular senior experience, having played 47 times in all competitions during 2022/23.
Should Forest make an attempt to sign Zalewski, the versatile player would not come cheap. According to the most recent source, the player will be available this summer for roughly £17 million.
Jose Mourinho used Zalewski on both the right and left flanks last season. He switched between the two wing-back positions and demonstrated his talent on both sides of the ball.
Tiago Pinto, Roma’s general manager, visited England on Wednesday. He’s looking to speak with clubs about Zalewski, and a trio of top-flight clubs are now interested.
Forest will be in the market for a left-sided wing-back. Renan Lodi is a difficult permanent signing; whilst Carlos Augusto could choose Inter over a move to the City Ground with the Reds.
Adding someone quite so versatile would be a very good move by Forest. The club had far too many injuries last season and adding some utility men would be a very good thing to do this summer.
Zalewski has also fulfilled a duty in the middle of the park for Roma and perhaps that could be an option for Steve Cooper too. The player also has also 11 Poland caps to his name.
The Reds will look for quality over quantity in the transfer market this summer. It was only 12 months ago when the club signed 23 players during the transfer window and that won’t be happening again.
Zalewski fulfills the description of a superb person. He has made 73 appearances for a top Serie A club and embodies the type of player Forest should be aiming to sign in the future.
Rumor score: 7/10 Although we enjoy this connection, we have a feeling Zalewski would reject down a move to Forest.
He’s used to playing across Europe, and a move to West Ham would give him the opportunity to do so as well as play in London.
We’d welcome the Polish performer to the City Ground, but we’re not sure if it’s feasible right now.
