FA finally release charge as Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson may go unpunished

Daniel Podence of Wolves has been charged with spitting at Nottingham Forest midfielder Brennan Johnson during last weekend’s contentious Premier League match.

The alleged incident occurred after Podence’s equalizer for Forest cancelled out Johnson’s first-half opener. The Portuguese then equalized before the incident in which he is accused of spitting at Johnson occurred.

After a VAR check cleared Podence, referee Chris Kavanagh took no action, but Johnson claimed in a post-match interview that “some sort of spit came towards my face.”

Wolves assistant Pablo Sanz and Forest counterpart Alan Tate have both been charged following a touchline brawl early in the second half. Forest has also been accused of failing to keep their players under control during the game.
