Nottingham Forest are eager to complete the transfer of Botafogo forward Matheus Nascimento from Botafogo. The Reds want to finalize a deal for the player as soon as possible because other clubs are interested.
The Reds have emerged as strong competitors to recruit the talisman this summer, according to the Brazilian source UOL. He’s presently playing in the Brazilian first flight, and his squad leads the league.
Nascimento has three goals this season, and at 19 years old, he is considered a bit of a wonderkid in South America. He was on Real Madrid’s radar just a year ago, and he’s certainly well regarded in the game.
Forest may also be able to snag a good price with this transaction. The player is reported to be available for £8 million, which, given his developing reputation in the game, might be considered a steal.
Nascimento came up via Botafogo’s youth system. Right now, he’s working hard to acquire more playing time, with Bruno Lage, who was previously associated with Forest, now serving as his manager.
Forest is desperate to sign Nascimento, who has the potential to amaze.
This may be a good signing for Forest, giving them a another option in attack. The Reds have Taiwo Awoniyi, who was the top striker last season, but there is little competition after that.
Nascimento is only 19 and it’s perhaps intriguing that he was linked with Real Madrid. They chose not to add him to the Bernabeu ranks but given they were interested, he still looks like a player with a bright future.
Nascimento makes a lot of sense from a Forest standpoint for £8 million. He would be a low-risk addition who would be an ideal backup to Awoniyi.
Rumor score: 7/10 This has a lot of potential. Forest is obviously scouting the Brazilian market, and Nascimento is the most recent to be associated.
There’s a lot to appreciate about him, especially given that he’s previously been connected to large clubs. Okay, he doesn’t have a lot of senior experience, but at £8 million, he’s a guy who could pay the Reds money in the future.
