Jermaine Jenas has voted young midfielder prospect as Nottingham Forest’s best player

Jermaine Jenas believes Morgan Gibbs-White is Nottingham Forest’s best player. During a recent interview, the man who began his career at the City Ground discussed England’s under-21 captain.

Yesterday was a proud day for the 23-year-old. He led the young Lions to a 4-0 victory over France at the King Power Stadium, with Gibbs-White claiming an assist.

Gibbs-White has worked extremely hard for this opportunity. He rose through the England ranks, winning the World Cup with the Under-17s under Steve Cooper’s management.

Jenas understands what it takes to rise through the ranks. He progressed through the City Ground youth teams to become a first-team regular and earn a move to Newcastle.

He’s now weighed in on the current crop of first-team players’ fortunes. He believes Gibbs-White is the club’s best player right now.

“Gibbs-White has been their best player, but he’s struggling for goals,” Jenas told The Mirror.

“I’m not picking on Morgan because he’s been fantastic, but they have a big couple of months coming up if they want to stay in this league.”

“Once Morgan scores, he’ll keep going.” They’ll have no trouble staying in the league if he does that.”

This season, the man who was signed for a club record fee has proven useful. However, it’s safe to say that more goals and assists are on the way.

Gibbs-White is constantly learning. Cooper has a manager who greatly trusts him, which will only help his development.

The versatile forward has a lot more to offer at the age of 23. He’ll be hoping to add to his goal contribution total, but there’s no reason he won’t.

Jenas is correct in his observations. If Forest are to remain in the Premier League this season, Gibbs-White will be crucial to their success.
