Manchester United legend stopping Nottingham forest from signing £375,000-a-week star

Dean Henderson’s transfer from Manchester United to Nottingham Forest could be delayed. David de Gea is poised to leave Old Trafford, and the Red Devils want to find a replacement first.

According to Football Insider, there is currently a little stumbling block. United will not ratify the player’s exit until they have new goalkeepers in place, which might take some time.

Forest hopes to complete their transaction by the end of the summer. The Reds had to wait until late in the season to get their business handled during the 2022 window, which cost them dearly in the opening exchanges of the campaign.

Henderson appeared in 20 games for Forest last season. He had six clean sheets and was greatly missed when he suffered a season-ending thigh injury against Leicester in January.

The goalkeeper has been identified as Forest’s top priority at that position. Other names have been prepared as backups, with Ugurcan Cakir said to be near the top of the list.

Henderson, on the other hand, is the one Forest desires. De Gea may potentially leave United after failing to reach an agreement to reduce his £375,000-a-week wage demands.

Henderson’s relocation to Forest could be stymied.

This does not appear to be cause for concern. All of this implies that Forest will have to wait a little longer to sign their number one goalkeeping target.

Henderson is also worth the wait. Sander Berge has described him as ‘crazy’ during his career, and he was outstanding for Forest last season after joining on a season-long loan.

The 25-year-old is unlikely to be granted a reprieve at Manchester United. He was highly critical of the way United handled his playing time in 2021/22, which will not have gone down well.

Forest would prefer to complete their major business early this summer. Henderson, on the other hand, may have to wait a little longer until United find a successor for De Gea.
