negotiation ongoing as Nottingham Forest 95% close to sign Leicester City electrifying striker

Nottingham Forest are on the verge of signing Leicester City midfielder Kelechi Iheanacho. The Reds are eager to add to their roster, and the first addition might arrive shortly.

Forest avoided relegation from the Premier League at the cost of their East Midlands rivals in 2022/23. According to Own Goal Nigeria, the Reds are planning a raid on Leicester City for one of their strikers.

Iheanacho joined Leicester from Manchester City in 2017. He cost the team £25 million and has proven to be a valuable asset to a club that has fallen from prominence.

During his stint at the King Power Stadium, the 26-year-old has 55 goals and 33 assists. He’s scored once every 98 minutes, which isn’t awful for someone who hasn’t always been considered a starter.

He was considered a backup option at Manchester City prior to joining Leicester. He scored 21 goals and assisted eight times in 64 appearances for City, filling in for Sergio Aguero in the attack.

Pep Guardiola lavished admiration on the talisman in April 2021. He described the player as ‘amazing’ and a ‘great person’ before of City’s trip to Leicester.

According to the most recent reports, the striker is on the verge of joining the Reds. It is understood that a few more specifics are being worked out, but the two clubs have agreed on a sum of roughly £8 million.

Forest could certainly benefit from extra weaponry. Taiwo Awoniyi scored 11 goals in all competitions last season, but he’s not the same as Iheanacho, with whom he’s good friends.

This summer, the Reds hope to offload a few players. Emmanuel Dennis and Sam Surridge are two of those, and if both are offloaded, Forest will be left considerably short in the final third.
