Nottingham Forest midfielder Nicolas Dominguez waited for AC Milan in the summer but a move never came. The Reds landed the Argentina international on transfer deadline day and he’s proving a quality signing.
The Reds midfielder cost the club under £10 million from Serie A outfit Bologna. He was part of a deal that saw Remo Freuler go in the other direction and he’s quickly becoming a firm fan favourite.
Dominguez has now made four appearances for the Reds since making his move from Serie A. The 25-year-old looks very assured and has taken very well to life in the Premier League.
Dominguez waited for AC Milan before Forest switch
This doesn’t really come as a surprise. Dominguez has been brilliant since arriving at Forest and it’s no real shocker that other clubs were monitoring him before the Reds pounced.
In a recent interview with Gianluca Di Marzio, Dominguez has been discussing his move. Despite holding out for a move to Milan, he is very happy that he ultimately ended up at Forest.
He claimed during the interview: “Yes there was talk about it (interest from AC Milan) and I read a bit about it. I even waited for the Rossoneri but nothing…I’m happy with the choice to come here.”
Dominguez is a coup for the Reds
Forest signed Ibrahim Sangare at the same time as Dominguez and it was the Ivorian that was expected to star. Ultimately, however, it’s the Argentine who has been the player who has caught the eye.
