According to Football Insider, Nottingham Forest are keen to sign goalkeeper Dean Henderson permanently ahead of Tottenham this summer.

The 26-year-old Manchester United loanee has impressed at the City Ground this season, and Steve Cooper is pleading with the Forest board to add him to his squad on a permanent basis.

Forest, on the other hand, understands that a move for Henderson is only possible if they avoid relegation this season – Forest are currently 16th in the Premier League, just two points clear of the bottom three.

According to Football Insider sources, Henderson has accepted his time at Old Trafford is up and will leave the club this summer.

Henderson slammed his treatment at Old Trafford, calling it “criminal” that he was benched last season.

“It was frustrating because I had turned down so many good loans for that reason last summer, and they wouldn’t let me go.” As a result, it was aggravating. “It’s criminal at my age to sit there and waste a year,” Henderson said.

Tottenham and Chelsea have also expressed interest in the Red Devils goalkeeper, with Graham Poter looking for a new No. 1 and Hugo Lloris’ future in North London uncertain.

According to this site’s sources, Spurs are willing to sell their 36-year-old club captain this summer, with a move to Ligue Un being the most likely.

Henderson is currently out with an injury at Nottingham Forest, and Keylor Navas was brought in in January to fill in while he is out.

Henderson has appeared in 20 first-team games for Cooper’s team this season, keeping six clean sheets while conceding 33 goals.

In other transfer mission news, Nottingham Forest are planning to sign Sydney van Hooijdonk.
