Nottingham Forest finally release list of six players to leave City Ground this summer

Nottingham Forest news as Steve Cooper’s Reds enter the crucial summer transfer window

Nottingham Forest control their Premier League destiny in the final three games of the season.

The Reds improved their survival chances with a 4-3 win over Southampton on Monday night, putting them out of the relegation zone. They’ll seek to build on that victory when they visit Chelsea on Saturday (3 p.m.).

Aside from that, much of what occurs in the summer will be determined by which division Steve Cooper’s team is placed in. But, whether it’s for another season in the Premier League or a promotion drive in the Championship, it’ll be a busy transfer window at the City Ground.

Incomings and outgoings are likely, but not on the same scale as last year. And some important decisions about players whose contracts are coming to an end will need to be made soon.

Such calls have generally been put on the backburner, with the emphasis squarely on concerns of the pitch. However, several players are expected to become free agents in the following weeks. We look at the deals that are coming to an end this summer.

Jordan Smith: Currently on loan

Cafu: Having not been part of the 25-man Premier League squad

Lyle Taylor: The striker is in a similar position to Cafu, left out of the squad both before and after the January transfer window.

Andre Ayew: Cooper believes in the forward, despite the fact that he has failed to win over Reds fans. It remains to be seen whether this leads in an extension of the short-term contract he signed as a free agency earlier this year.

Jesse Lingard: Fenerbahce and Leicester City have been linked with the former Manchester United man as his future comes under the spotlight.

Jack Colback: Various injury problems have limited the midfielder’s availability this term.

Additionally, Serge Aurier‘s The contract is expected to expire this summer, but the right-back has stated that an automatic one-year extension will be triggered if survival is achieved. Forest also have three loanees whose contracts expire in the summer: Dean Henderson (on loan from Manchester United), Renan Lodi (on loan from Atletico Madrid with the option of making the transfer permanent), and Keylor Navas (on loan from PSG).
