Nottingham Forest keen to sign 28-year-old with the best form ever this season

Nottingham Forest have added Jean Butez to their transfer wishlist in order to strengthen their goalkeeping department. The Reds are looking for a couple of goalkeepers this summer, and Forest are now interested in the Frenchman.

Butez is now a Royal Antwerp player. Burnley are also interested in signing the 28-year-old before the season begins, according to Get Belgian and Dutch Football News.

Dean Henderson is expected to fill one of Forest’s goalkeeping positions. According to reports this morning, the Reds are getting closer to signing the Manchester United midfielder on a permanent basis.

The Reds are now looking for another goalkeeper this summer, with Butez being the most recently linked. The player has been at Royal Antwerp since 2020, when he signed a contract with the club.

He’s made 129 appearances and maintained 49 clean sheets with his current team. Last season, he was the club’s first-choice goalkeeper as they finished third and won the Croky Cup.

Last season, Antwerp chief executive Sven Jacques was satisfied with the goalie. “Jean is having his best season ever,” he told the Belgian Press. He has reached a decent age for a move at the age of 28, and he has already signaled that he wants to take the next step.”

Butez is currently desired by Forest.

This is another player who will arrive as an unknown quantity, which isn’t always a bad thing. He’s a youthful goalkeeper at 28, and he could be a great backup for Henderson.

Butez has previously played for Lille in France. He’ll want to play in a European league that’s better than the Belgian league, and the Premier League is undoubtedly appealing.

Butez’s current contract has three years remaining. Still, Antwerp is unlikely to demand a large sum of money, considering that their CEO appears to be resigned to losing him.

Rumor score: 7/10 This potential transaction has a lot to like. The Frenchman appears to be a competent goalkeeper who will be eager to put his skills to the test in a different country.

This summer, Forest could tick some boxes for Butez. However, if Henderson signs as predicted, he should be aware that first-team football would be difficult to come by.
