The latest Nottingham Forest news as the Reds prepare to meet Manchester United in the Premier League at the City Ground this weekend.
Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall says the team ‘fancies’ getting a result against anyone at the City Ground ahead of the Premier League clash with Manchester United.
The Reds meet Erik Ten Hag’s team on Sunday afternoon (4.30pm kick-off) in an attempt to stop their nine-game Premier League winless streak. With eight games remaining in the season, Steve Cooper’s team are in the relegation zone based on goal difference.
Forest go into the game against United knowing that taking any points will give them a good chance of moving out of the bottom three at the end of the weekend. United have however improved under the stewardship of Ten Hag this season and will be looking to pick up points to help to secure a Champions League place next season.
Worrall has shared his opinion of Forest’s challenge before of the match at the City Ground. However, the defender has also mentioned his team’s home advantage.
“They’re a fantastic team, and I think they’ve definitely been underperforming for a club that size for many years since (Alex) Ferguson left,” he said on Sky Sports. “It took a while to find the right man for the job, and it appears that the current manager has struck the right chord with the squad.”
“Who are we kidding, they’ve got fantastic players, (they’re) an impressive outfit.” But I believe that if we look at how much skill we have in our squad, the belief, fight, enthusiasm, and charisma that we’ll need to stay in this tier.
“We fancy ourselves regardless of who we play at the City Ground.”
This season, Forest has defeated Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool at the City Ground. They’ll be hoping to do the same when Manchester United comes to town this weekend.
