According to reports, Nottingham Forest have been connected with a deal for Brazilian forward Giovani, although they will face competition from Barcelona.
The highly rated 19-year-old has two goals and four assists in his early professional career. At the start of the season, he made his first senior debut for Palmeiras.
Giovani would join three other Brazilians in Steve Cooper’s side if he were to arrive at the City Ground. The Reds also have Felipe, Danilo, and Gustavo Scarpa on their team, while Renan Lodi’s loan term is due to finish.
And now, according to Nosso Palmeiras, the Reds will ‘open their wallets’ to sign him. He is also said to have been a target for Barcelona and Ajax.
According to the report, he is’strong, swift, skillful, and a terrific finisher,’ and he is worth around £50 million. They also claim that Barca ‘have not yet presented a proposal’ identical to Forest’s, but that this is ‘expected to happen in the coming days.’
If Giovani does join the Reds, he will be joining a side that is certain to participate in the Premier League next season. Forest earned their place in the Premier League for another season with a 1-0 win over Arsenal last weekend.
